Welcome to Week #3 of the On My Mind blog hop series!
You guys shared some seriously fab posts last week. I can't wait to read about what's taking over your hearts {or possibly your lives} this time around :)
This week is going to contain a jumble of random things. Because there hasn't been just one particular thing on my mind lately. Mostly I've been thinking of the different blessings that I'm lucky enough to own, those things that we sometimes take for granted. The holidays in general just make me feel more...reflective?
Happy. Loving. Blessed.
Blessed that...
Baby girl is healthy. Our family is healthy.
We have family and friends and a church who love us.
Hubs has a good job.
I can stay home with our daughter and teach her. Watch her grow.
We have wonderful neighbors.
We never struggle to pay bills or put food on the table.
That God is my Savior. That He's always there.
And so I'm really.super.excited to talk about this...
Today's my dad's birthday. The big 5-5.
Hard to believe that two years ago he was in the midst of recovering from a heart attack.
Since then he's been living his dreams. I'm so proud of him! Taking Mom on a vacation to Hawaii {he used to hate traveling}. Building a cabin in the mountains for our family to enjoy. Staking claim on a beach house to create memories in. Giving Mom what she's always wanted: a master bathroom makeover.
Getting to hold his first granddaughter on the day she was born.
Being "Pa-Pa" and teaching her how to kick a soccer ball. Letting her play with all those things she's really not supposed to be playing with :)
I love watching you with that crazy child of mine. You even warm up to the dog when you're visiting.
Wouldn't have put a bet on that one five years ago!
I know I always say this...but I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today or the person and mother that I am today...if it wasn't for you and how you raised me. What you taught me.
Even when I was hating every minute of being under house arrest during midterms and finals in high school and having to abide by that ridiculous 11 PM curfew. Those are the things that made me.
And I SO appreciate you being hard on me during school and making me stick with soccer.
I mean...if I hadn't listened to you, I wouldn't have went to the college I did.
Wouldn't have majored in accounting. Or played soccer. Or met that man who's the best husband. The best father. The best provider for his family.
Just like you.
I love you Dadsie! Happy Birthday.
What's on your mind lately? What are you lovers feeling blessed with?
Link up your posts below--remember, it can be about anything, as long as it's family-friendly.
Who's excited?!
