Playing catch-up here peeps. Since last Thursday actually was Thanksgiving, I wasn't about to spend any part of that day trying to write a post and take that precious time away from my family.
So today you get a double dose of thankfulness. Not bad, eh?
And...since there's really only one more day of November this week concludes my challenge of finding gratitude and blessings in every day for 30 days. Which honestly, isn't very challenging.
Bringing us to Days 29 & 30, the final days, my final hoorah of being thankful...
Compared to other families who won't have a warm meal of their own or the ability to buy toys or warm clothes for their children this season, we've got it pretty darn lucky. I write about trying to stick to our budget and starting to coupon to save money. But at least we can always pay our bills on time and keep our credit cards debt-free. We have coats to wear and baby girl won't be lacking in the toy department come Christmas. Our house is warm and we don't struggle to buy groceries. We live modestly but we're wealthy by most of this country's standards.
And for all that, and the love of God, I am thankful.
A recap of my thankfulness via Instagram over the past two weeks. Follow me, maybe? :)
Day 15 -- Thankful for peaceful mommy moments.
Day 19 -- Thankful we live in a safe neighborhood where I can take the kids on walks.
Day 20 -- Baby girl absolutely LOVES coming to stay at Grandma's house! {Must be all those old-school toys and have something to do with all that attention.}
Day 24 -- Thankful we were able to celebrate baby girl's first birthday with family, PA style.
Day 25 -- Thankful to have the perfect-sized SUV to lug everything back from a week at my parents'. And yes, that IS our Christmas tree in a box. Which has yet to make it OUT of the box. #holidayfail
Day 27 -- Snow! A reminder that God can always make the world beautiful.
Day 28 -- Thankful for silly nugget and mommy moments before bath time.
Ready for another thing I'm thinking about?
I think a great follow-up challenge {and a real challenge, to say the least} would be 30 days of NOT complaining. Yes, we can be thankful, but many times we turn right around and complain about something so insignificant. It's practically ingrained in our brains. My bloggy friend Megan wrote a fantastic post about this exact topic on her blog HERE. Read it. It's a very sobering thought.
What are some things you complain about that really aren't worth the time?
