eight months. and crawling.

Well, baby girl, another month just flew by. I really don't know where all the hours and days go. One day you're sitting up and the next you are halfway across the kitchen floor going straight for that wine rack. (Didn't you know that spinning wine bottles is a pretty fun game?) Now that you've discovered that those little hands and knees will take you places, there's no stopping you. What a difference this makes in Mommy's day! No more leaving you on a blanket with your toys while I do the laundry. Nope, these days you've got a desire to check out evvvverything.

Which meant a few things had to be adjusted this past week!

-Horray for Daddy finally lowering your crib due to those impressive climbing skills.

-Mommy found a new use for the Bumbo: crawl-restriction device.
-Up go the outlet covers!
-Apparently base heaters make for really great drum sets.
-Vacuuming and swiffering floors are now daily tasks. Much to the dog's dislike.
-Gone are the days of anything but toys being left on the floor. Which means gone are the days of Mommy's attempt at decorating a house. Sorry basket of magazines (aka, the most interesting thing S has ever laid eyes on) we must find you a new home.
-I think we need to invest in one of those octagon play yards...

You have NO fear. I mean absolutely none. A girl after her Daddy's own adventurous childhood. As long as we don't find you up a ladder peaking into the neighbor's window, I think we'll be all right. True story.

Verdict: Baby has taken over! That's okay, we kinda like it.
