Dear baby girl,
the nugget, the little crazy one, my heart, my life.
On Sunday you are going to be one year old!
I don't know how this day is already here.
How an entire year has gone by since you made your perfect entrance into this world.
Where do the days and weeks go?
But I can't remember how life was without you, without your bright smile and those big baby blues.
Blue eyes. Who would have thought?
I like to think those eyes of yours are a gift from your great-grandma in heaven. She had blue eyes. And you have her middle name. Did she hold you up there before you came to earth?
The past twelve months with you have been beyond amazing.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect, beautiful little girl.
Daddy said he wouldn't have you grow up being called a princess, but that's changing!
Even just this past month you've grown so much.
Saying words and chattering nonstop. You'll be out-talking those boy cousins of yours in no time.
Picking up Cheerios all by yourself. And your passion for Baby Goldfish.
"Ball" and "Baby" are your top vocab choices, and you've figured out how to say hello on the phone.
Nevermind that everything seems to be a phone to you these days.
You're cruising everywhere, standing all by yourself, and you've even taken a few steps!
Mommy's not sure she's ready for you to run around just yet. Given your track record and all.
Getting into everything. Testing your limits. Just like Daddy.
And with your big personality and imagination for such a little girl.
You're gonna give us a run for our money, aren't you?
But that's okay.
Because we love you more than life.
And we're so looking forward to watching you grow and learn and love.
With you came the reason for everything I do.
And everything I am.
Dear best friend in the entire universe,
Tomorrow is your wedding day! I am super-duper beyond excited to see you tonight and help you celebrate your special day. Remember when you thought this day would never come? We were livin' off of boxed wine and trying to avoid sorority functions--making plans for you and your brood of cats to live in Hubs and my spare bedroom. I think we're both glad that THAT didn't pan out :)
Although I gotta say we made that boxed wine look pretty classy.
Dear Arizona,
This East Coast girl is ready to meet the wild west. Which is probably not that wild.
But please provide good weather for perfect photo-snapping opportunities.
Dear airplane,
Be kind to baby girl. It's her first-ever time flying on one of you. And mommy's a little nervous.
Dear readers,
Let me tell you once again how much you rock my socks. Just look at how you've helped this little bloggy grow! I love replying to your comments and getting to know some of you better. And thanks a TON to the six sweet ladies who've offered to write guest posts next week while me and the fam are away crashing weddings. Bloggy Friends Week starts Monday!
{And don't forget to enter the nugget's birthday giveaway--winners will be announced on Monday!}
