Okay. So I know I'm doing my Friday Letters installment on Saturday. But technically I wrote this post late last night so my letters really were accomplished on Friday.
They just happen to be showing up on my blog today.
They just happen to be showing up on my blog today.
And today's a pretty darn special day anyway, so poo poo to you.
My sister turns the big 2-3 today.
Dear lovely sister,
Just writing that makes me feel o-l-d. Really? You're 23? I still feel like I'm 23.
And you're five years younger than me.
Heck, I got married when I was 23 {not saying that you need to get married yet!}. Scary.
Don't take offense when I say that I still think of you as a five-year-old belting out tunes from The Lion King on our cassette player. As a seven-year-old who would gladly play Barbies with me. As a 12-year-old posing in photos with me during prom. As a 17-year-old mess in high school :)
Those were the days.
Now you've graduated college {a semester early--smartness apparently runs in the family} and have your own classroom full of first graders relying on you to learn about life.
You finally grew a pair and ditched that no-good free-loader and found yourself a nice REAL man.
I can just tell that he's the one for you.
And I can't wait for the day when I finally get to help you create your own dream wedding.
{And finally be IN a wedding! You're my only hope, ha.}
Just like you did for me.
Like how you're always there for me. Always doing little things to make me smile.
And being the best auntie a baby could ask for in this world.
Even though we live farther apart than what's really necessary for two sisters, I don't think we could be any closer in our hearts. That's just how sisters operate.
So today I want you to know how much I love you and appreciate you lady.
Seriously, I wouldn't even be writing this blog if it wasn't for you! Also scary.
Know that I think about you every day and just want you to be happy.
And you are.
I can tell.
Now. Can we please fast forward a few weeks?
I need to commence the holidays with you and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, newspaper coloring contest pages, and the 2nd Annual Black Friday Extravaganza.
Happy Birthday blslw!
{check out my sister's blog, here. come on, it's her birthday!}
Dear iPhone,
Just wanted to say that I'm madly in love with you.
You and your Instagram.
Dear Dallas,
I feel terrible that I haven't been playing with you as much as you need.
Although you do seem perfectly content curled up on the sofa.
I believe this weekend calls for a few of our special long walks {and some extra jerky treats}.
I'll even let you smell mailboxes to your little doggy heart's content.
Dear Baby Girl,
I can't believe you're walking!
And eating big people food.
You didn't even cry after your shots at the doctor's this week.
Such a big girl.
Dear Readers,
I must say once again how much you all rock.
I mean, we're almost at 200 GFC followers, people! There was a day when I thought I'd never get here.
I know I've been a little lax on commenting on your blogs lately, but that's gonna change real fast.
So thanks to all you ladies for all your support and love.
Especially on this post, which was one of the toughest ones I've shared with you.
xoxo
Who's doing something fun this weekend?
