Info Post
No matter what happens, God is always working for those who love him. He doesn't give up and his plans for your life are always designed to help you and never to hurt you. He wants you to draw closer to him, to strengthen your faith. And sometimes that's what those bumps (or train-wrecks) in life are meant to do.

Many people don't want to realize this - instead they wonder how there could be a God who puts them through such horrible times. So they shut down. But what God intends for is just the opposite. He wants you to take this painful time and confide in him, to lean on him. Because there's a reason for every moment. And putting all your worries and cares on God's shoulders, knowing that he will take care of you, is a wonderful feeling.

Last night S had her first trip to the ER. She fell off the side of our bed and hit her nose on the hardwood floor. She was crying, her nose was bleeding, and we were scared. Hubs wanted to blame himself for turning his back for even a second, and not seeing her crawl across the bed. I wanted to blame myself for not being in the room at the time. But we couldn't blame ourselves, that would get us nowhere.

So I prayed. Prayed for S's safety and our calmness and knowing what to do next.

In the scheme of things, this was a minor injury, and there will be more as S grows, but it was our first scary moment as first-time parents. We called the pediatrician on the way to the hospital and she told us not to worry, but to go to the ER. It was hard not to worry, this is our baby girl! But I felt a calmness and I totally believed that God was handling this for us. And he is.

We arrived back home around 2:30 AM, and now after an hour or two of sleep I'm beginning a new day. S is still sleeping, she's exhausted, but she's acting normal and nursing and I know she will be okay. God just wanted to get our attention, get us back on track with him. S and I will be spending the whole day snuggling and playing, and I will be thanking God.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." {Isaiah 41:10}

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future." {Jeremiah 29:11}
