Info Post
Here it is folks! I've been anticipating Monday this week (for once) because I knew I was going to post about my recent nomination for the Liebster Award. Yay!!! As I mentioned in my post on Friday, the lovely lady who chose me for this award is Sara at Confessions of a Redheaded Mama. She posts wonderfully yummy recipes (read: you must try them!) and writes about her daily thoughts and life with an adorable little boy.

And (surprise!), I was just informed this morning that I've been nominated again for the Liebster Award! This time by one of my fave bloggy friends, Kim, at Typical Kim. She has an awesome job with a marine company that takes her to Mexico and all places near the water. So she writes about some pretty interesting stuff. Not to mention I love her photography.

For all of you who don't know, the Liebster Blog Award is for blogs with fewer than 200 followers. So it's a GREAT way to get to know other bloggers, become friends, and help support each other and grow our blogs!

How It Works

>> Post 5 random facts about yourself.
>> Answer the questions the nominator has asked you and ask your own 5 questions to the people you nominate.
>> Choose 5 other deserving blogs with less than 200 followers to nominate and link to their blogs in your post.
>> Tell the nominees you have chosen them for this award by leaving a comment on their blogs.
>> Absolutely NO tag backs.

Random Facts About Moi

1. Bethany Beach in Delaware is my absolute favorite place to go on vacation (if you didn't realize that I talk about it all the time) and I would take going there multiple times every year over going to tropical islands.
2. I want to have four kids.
3. I played varsity soccer in college and had a partial scholarship because of it.
4. I played with Barbies until I was 14 (because my sister was five years younger than me, of course). We had a zillion Barbies and used to create towns for them to live in and made them compete in dance shows.
5. My husband and I share the exact same birthday, day and year. He's older by two hours.
* * * * *
As I've found out, there seems to be two versions of this award - some nominators prefer to choose 5 questions and others choose 11. Sara chose 5 questions for me to answer and Kim chose 11.

Questions from Sara at Confessions of a Redheaded Mama

1. If money was no object, where would you want to live in the United States?
>> (And if you could take your family with you, I have to add. Because I could not live farther than three hours away from them.) Maui, Hawaii. No question.

2. If you were given a million dollars that you had to give to charity, what charity/charities would you give it to?
>> I'd split it between the ASPCA and The Alzheimer's Association.

3. What is your favorite animal and why?
>> I love dogs. They are so personable and they give an unconditional love. Our dog, Dallas, is definitely a member of our family and is treated as such. If I had to pick a favorite wild animal, I'd pick an elephant.

4. What is your favorite pizza topping?
>> Mushrooms! Cheese with mushrooms, pepper and salt. Yummm.

5. What is your biggest fear?
>> That I won't be able to have any more children. Or, even more horrendous, have something life-threatening happen to S. It makes me cry to even think about.

Questions from Kim at Typical Kim

1. Why did you start blogging?
>> My sister decided to start a blog and begged me to start one too. I did it just for a change of pace...then it turned into documenting my days with S...now it has turned into so much more! I LOVE it.

2. Where do you find inspiration to blog?
>> Mainly through reading other blogs (no, I'm not too original) and through experiencing day-to-day life with a ten-month-old. I also am a pro at coming up with good ideas at times when I can't write them down. Like in the middle of the night when I'm up with S, or driving in the car.

3. If you could only eat one meal repeatedly for the rest of your life (health consequences aside), what would it be?
>> The Thanksgiving dinner that my mom makes. Food coma.

4. What makes your favorite book your absolute favorite?
>> Favorite book(s): The Hunger Games trilogy. Why? Because I literally couldn't put my Kindle down (aka staying up until 1AM) from start to finish and it took me less than two weeks to read all three. PLUS the ending was perfect.

5. Beach or mountains?
>> You knew I was gonna say beach.

6. What country would you most like to visit and why?
>> The Czech Replublic, because my great-grandparents (on my dad's side) were born there and I think it would be awesome to see and experience the country of my heritage. Bucket List must.

7. Right-handed or left?
>> Right. Which is also the way that I vote.

8. Are you the oldest, youngest, middle, or an only child? Do you think you behave "that way"?
>> Oldest, and I definitely think that I act like the oldest child. Hubs is the youngest in his family and he also definitely acts like the youngest. Let me tell you, this causes some rifts.

9. What's your sign?
>> Virgo! Perfectionist? Yes. Anal? Yes. Obsessed with being organized? Yes.

10. What four blogs do you read the most?

11. Would you rather be gifted one million dollars or have one sister-like best friend for the rest of your life?
>> Easy. Gimme the one million bucks! I already am lucky enough to have a sister who is a best friend AND a best friend who is like a sister. And I never would have to budget again.

NOW for the Fun Part...my Nominees!
(I chose six because I'm not a rule-breaker and I was going to nominate Kim anyway.)

My Questions For You
(Since I fail to have much in the creative department, I'm choosing to ask you all five questions.)

1. Who was your favorite athlete in the London 2012 Olympics and why?
2. In the past year, what was the most expensive item that you splurged on?
3. What is you favorite place to visit in the United States and why?
4. If you attended college, what did you major in? If not, what made you choose the job that you currently have? (Oh, and being a stay-at-home mom IS a job!)
5. Why did you decide to start a blog? (Yes I know repeat question, but you have to admit it's interesting!)

Whew...if that wasn't a monster of a long post, I don't know what is. Congrats to my nominees!
